Most of the arguments in couples are based on misunderstandings due to any reason. Sometimes it could be that a man’s silence is misinterpreted or sometimes a woman’s habit of venting it out is consider to be a call for solution by man which worsen the situation. To have a healthy working relationship, it is necessary to understand how a man and woman think and speak. Here are 10 common relationship misunderstandings almost everyone has.
- Women prefer details
Women are sentimental more than man and are more interested in details where as men do not remember details because their way of processing information is different than that of women. It is not that they do not care, but their processing system is different.
- Women drop clues while men asks
We have seen men making direct request about the things they want whereas women out other’s needs above their own needs. And this is the reason why women always want men to read their mind and understand what they want. Women need to speak about what they want instead of dropping clues for your man.
- The difference in thinking process
Men separate their work, relationship and everything mentally and emotionally where as women think of everything as a bigger picture connecting all the aspects of their life together. It is necessary for both of them to understand this thing. If a man switches from a serious conversation to a match he played, it does not mean he does not care about the issue. And if a woman brings up the past does not mean she is nagging, this is how her brain works.
- The difference between listening and solving
When a woman has a problem, she needs someone to understand and offer her shoulder and later then to offer solution if required and for man if there is any problem, they need someone to offer solution and then compassion.
- Women likes reminders
For women just being committed is not everything, they want their man to show his affection and love to her and do all little nice things he used to do to pursue her. Your gestures and reminders of love plays an important role for a woman. For man being in a relationship is all that shows the things are fun and fine.
- Women likes talking while men talks less
When a woman is stressed or super happy or excited, they just love venting it out in the absolute detail of things it is just like a valve on pressure cooker. Men need not to get defensive and show empathy and ask her questions to show their involvement and encourage her to talk it out. Whereas when a man is stressed they stop talking for a period of time and spend some time with themselves. A women may feel rejected then and will try to ask questions to know what actually happened but it is better to take a back seat and allow him some alone time to feel relaxed and happy.
- Women: you never listen to me
Men: (thinks) she talks all the time, all I do is to listen to her
Women want their mean to listen to her genuinely and to assure this men need to drop clues and ask questions in between to let her know that you are listening to what she is saying. If a man is occupied he can even politely ask her to tell her story later like “I really want to listen to this, let me just finish it up so that I can listen to you”
- Men are emotional too
Men too are sensitive and have deep emotions, it is just that they do not put their emotions on display and are not comfortable showing them. A woman may think that men do not have emotions and they do not feel emotions like hurt or rejection. Instead of assuming it is better we ask our man about how they felt in a more subtle manner.
- She: I can do it myself
He: (thinks) she does not want my help
We all women love to be taken care by our man in any manner possible however strong and confident we are. Men should instead of taking it as rejection should instead understand and say I know you can do it on your own, but I love doing things for you.
- He: I am tired, let’s just stay in
She: (thinks) he just wants to be with TV rather than me
Women need to understand that sometimes man just want to be with them and relax and do not wish to do any other thing. If a woman allows her being this, man finds her very attractive.
