Do you have a boyfriend who gets mean and rude to you every now and then? Fairytales and movies have shown us some perfect romance and make us lure for it but not every relationship is about just love, it goes through ups and downs and reach a happily ever after. If your boyfriend is acting mean, it could be because of some misunderstanding and once the confusion is clear, you can be in your happy place. While some guys are just bad and trying to change them means the more annoying and mean they become. Here are 16 reasons why your boyfriend is being mean to you.

1. He is a bad person

Sometimes, bad luck hits you so hard that you end up with a bad guy who treats you like a doormat and expects you to treat him like king. If he treats you disrespectfully and ill-treats you, break up with him.

2. You misunderstood him

You need to understand that sometimes it could be you who misunderstood his words. Guys are not great with words mostly and they end up saying things that mean worse than what they really mean.

3. He thinks about someone else

It could be the case that you love him and he loves you back but is infatuated by someone else which is making his actions mean.

4. You both have different needs

It could be that your relationship compatibilities do not match. You wish to meet him every day but he believes in meeting once in a week, which will never make you feel happy and he will always seem mean to you.

5. He is coward

He may wish to break up with but does not have the courage to say it right to you and thus believes that being mean is the easiest way to force you so that you yourself call it a quit. If he had been a nice guy all throughout and has suddenly turned into this, you should bring up breakup conversation to know what he wants.

If your life revolves around your boyfriend, then it could be his way to make you stand on your own feet and be independent and confident enough. He will love you and appreciate you more then.

If you have recently cheated on him or hurt him, this may be your boyfriend’s childish way to get back at you.

He is bored of your relationship and it better you call it a quit because he is not worth your time. You can do things to keep him interested but it will only work if he loves you. But what is the point of doing efforts for someone who is not interested in you.

The way you need your personal space, same way your man too needs his personal space. He may feel that you are always around him and taking his personal space. If you feel that you are not clingy and he is still being mean, you better plug off the chords.

Boys do not understand hints; you need to be vocal about things. If you are upset and he is not acting on it, you may find it to be rude and mean and you may end up thinking that he is not even bothered. But the truth is you need to talk and be vocal about things.

This is sad but the guy you love deeply may be only using you for something. It could be just to have sex or to show you off.

There are chances that he is addicted to something and thus he has no control on his life and he puts his addiction before you. It could be his addiction to anything like drugs, alcohol or anything.

Guys learn things from their dad and if his father ill-treats his mother, he will learn that and exercise the same on you and may think himself to be a perfect man because for him the definition of perfect man is what he learns from his father.

If your boyfriend is serious, he will tell you about this. But if he is mean, it could be that he is not serious about you and your relationship.
