Love is one strange feeling that cannot be defined with a set limit of words. No two loves are same. Love never dies a natural death and there are many things that kill love. You have found love, things went all perfect and you had your head-over-heels in love phase and then you slowly realized the love falling off or dying and you were all baffled and confused as to what is happening, there is some reason for this fade in love. Here are 10 sad reasons your love is dying in your relationship.
- Unrealistic expectations
When we are in love and relationship, we tend to expect a lot and make some unrealistic expectations from our relationship. Your partner is human and can have weakness and can make mistakes. You have to love your partner despite the odds. Unrealistic expectations lead to disappointments if they are not fulfilled which can make you feel that your relationship is failing.
- It was not love to begin with
If you are feeling that loving is falling off, it could be because you mistook infatuation to be love in first place. Once the honeymoon phase is over, you feel that you are falling out of love. While in real love, the love grows deeper as you grow, as the two people involved in it grow and move together.
- It was not built on solid foundation
If your love is built on dishonesty and self-doubt, it is bound to crumble down. Even sexual chemistry is not a solid foundation to let your relationship sustain. Friendship, trust, respect, and honesty are the basic foundation to go through your love and make it last long. Sex, infatuation or flirtation guarantees you a failure.
- Betrayal
It is one horrifying experience to be with a cheater and being cheated on, which makes it hard for you to trust anyone further. It is difficult to trust the person who betrayed you. This makes the love die a slow death and the doubts consume your head and your relationship crumbles down.
- Fear
The fear of losing your partner is rational but it becomes problematic when you start doing irrational things to keep them around. Holding your partner too tightly can make your partner feel suffocated. When fear and desperation invades your relationship, love takes a backseat.
- Lack of growth
With time, things change. People in a healthy relationship make their way to enrich their relationship and allows it to mature and grow with time. Sometimes people hold on to things or bring one another down, which hampers the progress of a relationship, and love dies a slow death.
- No trust and honesty
Trust and honesty are the basic foundations of any relationship. If you constantly doubt your partner, then there is sure something wrong in your relationship. Trust gives you peace of mind and holds your relationship together. If there is no trust and honesty, love flunks.
- Old hurts and lies
Some old wounds never really heal; it could be because of betrayal, disappointment or resentment. If the old issues remain unsolved, it leads to grudges and anger. And the couples realize their pain, anger, and resentment is stronger than the love they bear for each other.
- Incompatibility
Compatibility makes the relationship survive in long run. Eventually, with time, you will understand the faults and idiosyncrasies of your partner, and that is what decides if your relationship will last long or not. This will open up your eyes to the truth, and sometimes, you will find that no matter how great things were in the start; your ultimate incompatibility will drive you apart.
- Romance took over
To let the mature love grow and prosper, it is necessary for the romantic love to die. Romance is façade that hides the true issues of relationship and you mistake it to be real love. Love is not only about romantic gestures, it is also about hard work, overcoming trials together, and growing as a couple. When a couple is blinded by romance, they see love, but it’s an incomplete picture.
