By- Shreya Sharma
We all have faced heartbreak in our life and we know how much it hurts. It takes a month to get over it and see the ray of happiness again in our life. You understand that it will not bother you two years down the line. You feel hopeless and think it is the dead end. Breakup teaches us a lot many lessons to us. Here are 10 things you learn about yourself after your first heartbreak.
- You are stronger than you think
Breakup reveals your true strengths. This is the time when you have no other option than being strong. Sure there are hard days as well when you hardly manage the courage to get out of your bed, but gradually you become well.
- Love ends but not the world
Life goes on and does not stop for anyone. You will go to the office, attend parties and enjoy holidays. After the breakup, you go into hibernation mode, and coming back to reality is like a wake-up call. It is up to you to stop there and sulk or to move on.
- You can heal in your own way
When you breakup, everyone around you tries to help you. But people have different ways to deal with the breakup. You can sit, cry, eat chocolates and there is nothing wrong with it if you do not wish to follow someone’s advice to go out.
- You are responsible for your own happiness
When in a relationship, we totally rely on our partner for happiness. But after the breakup, we realize that we are enough to make ourselves happy. When you take responsibility for your own happiness, you get to know yourself better. You will feel free when you are no longer dependent on someone else.
- Be grateful
Even if you had one bad breakup, there will be so many things to be grateful for. Breakups are always worse but you still can find things to be grateful for.
- You are not a bad person
When you breakup, people are hurt and usually end up saying mean things. But just because someone says something in the heat of the moment does not mean it is true. This is something you re-learn every day.
- Alcohol is not the solution
People think that drinking can be the ultimate solution, but it does not go down well with everyone. It is better to stick to other things if you do not wish to end up crying ugly in some random bathroom.
- Friends and family keeps us going
They are the people who listen to our stories and crying endlessly and still hug us and tell us that things will be fine. Their support helps us get out of it.
- It will stop hurting eventually
Time heals everything. It makes scars fade and wounds heal. Life goes on and even you will. It will eventually stop hurting.
- You can take everything that comes on your way
After heartbreak, you will know that nothing feels scary anymore. Your breakup shows you the strength you always had and shows that you can conquer over any odds.
